Mission
Think of us like a Swiss Army knife.
Our mission is to provide a multi-faceted tool with the power to provide the fastest, easiest, and most economical path to meaningfully scale carbon sequestration.
The most recent UN IPCC report identified biochar as one of the top three tools to address climate change - estimating that biochar simply used for soil augmentation could pull 2 gigatons of CO2 a year. Our designer Biocarbon functions as everything from soil amendment to a filler in asphalt, concrete, drywall, or to filter air and water — if all biochar had these capabilities, that 4 gigaton removal rate could rise anywhere from 6.7 - 23.4 gigatons a year. Considering we need to reduce about 50 gigatons a year of CO2, the use of multi-functional biochar alone could get us halfway there. The best part? It doesn't cost a lot to do this.
We want to scale our designer biochar production to more aggressively address mitigate climate change as well as several of the real-world implications of a changing climate. Glanris can utilize biochar as a circular economy tool to: Reduce agricultural GHGs on a large scale but also to improve local health conditions — Provide meaningful carbon sequestration that has direct and immediate impact — Address water scarcity and security by providing an affordable and accessible clean water technology. From remediation of damage done, stopping pollution at the source through discharge filtration, to assisting water reuse and recycling — we can to preserve, protect, and clean this precious resource while fixing tradition filtration media short-comings in performance, cost, and sustainability.
